Something we don’t understand is those we share the planet the planet with. We share the planet with approximately 50,000 vertebrates, 400,000 plants, and possibly 1.3 million other organisms. Of that 8 million nearly 12% (1 million) of all species on Earth are at risk of extinction, climate change will be responsible for 8% of these. That’s not a small number, if we don’t stop climate change in 5 years 150,000,0 different life on the planet will die. Scientists estimate that by 2050 more than 1 million species will be extinct. I understand that this is not all because of climate change it’s also because of habitat loss, poaching, overfishing, and pollution. A few examples of animals that are at the root of this are Sea Turtles, Polar Bears, Bees, Tigers, Cheetahs, Dolphins, and the Spix’s Macaw these are just a few examples of animals. All species of Sea turtles are classified as endangered as a result of poaching and exploitation. Bumble Bee populations are reducing at “rates consistent with mass extinction.” These 19 subpopulations of Polar Bears equate to around 26,000 Polar Bears worldwide, with the Canadian Arctic region accounting for around 66% of polar bears’ residency. All tiger subspecies are listed as an endangered species on The List Of Endangered & Threatened Wildlife. The population of wild tigers is estimated at approximately 3900. It is estimated that there are only 7,100 cheetahs still in existence globally today. Around 91% of the cheetah population that once existed is now extinct. There are approximately 36 remaining species of dolphins (34 of which are thought to be “severely endangered”). This should hopefully give you an idea of how severely these animals have been hit by our actions, our actions have consequences on the planet, the animals, and our lives, everything we do is reflected on us no matter good or bad. Remember, be prepared, be aware, be an awareness spreader.
